So what's the deal?

Are you working with the big guys over at…?
No — this is an independent effort. We source our own bricks and make a custom part for the lighting element.
How big is the lamp?
When built, the Splash of Color lamp stands 10.5″ tall, with a symmetrical base 6.25″ wide and 6.25″ deep.
How long does it take to build the Splash of Color lamp kit?
Build time varies by builder — most people finish in 4 to 6 hours.
What is the lampshade made of?
The lampshade uses a translucent brick to let light pass through, so it glows when lit and contrasts with the base when off.
Does the lamp kit come with a light bulb?
A light bulb isn't included — you'll want to add a compatible one.
What kind of light bulb can I use with the Splash of Color lamp kit?
We recommend LED bulbs rated between 4W and 15W.
What about the Philips Hue light bulbs?
Yes — they're LED bulbs, so they work great.
Can I use any other type of light bulb?
No — incandescent and compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs aren't a good fit.
What should I do if my kit is missing one or more pieces?
